Feast celebrated in the Roman Catholic and
Orthodox churches, and to some extent in the
Anglican Church, on the Thursday after
Trinity Sunday. It was instituted in the 13th
century through the devotion of St Juliana,
prioress of Mount Cornillon, near Liege, in
honour of the Real Presence of Christ in the
Eucharist.
